Japanese Burl Stand/Base & Bird Sculpture #1513

A burl base or stand is this eagle's landing or takeoff perch. The bird with its immense wing span is also from a piece of burl. The bird lifts out of the stand and can be placed in at different angles. There is some unknown white substance on the left wing's underside. Please see photo. Weighs unpacked 6 pounds, 6 ozs and dates mid century.
